The only draw back is that it’s mostly on-leash, there’s two relatively small triangular areas between Baildon and Dryden Streets and Dryden and Arnold Streets which are off-leash. They are very well sign-posted but are disjointed so you need to keep your dog on-leash between the two play areas (however we saw lots of people leading their dogs off-leash between these two places). The areas do have a good incline so is great for giving your dog a good workout! It’s also very popular with the locals so you’re bound to run into another pup or two which is a bonus.
Location: Just off Williamson Ave
Snowy’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Grey Lynn park is good all year round, great for meeting other dogs, and one of my favourite Auckland Parks. However, from the dog’s point of view the off-leash areas are a little on the small side and feel a little disjointed.
✔️ Some off-leash areas
✔️ Popular with other owners
✔️ Close to the city but feels worlds away
3⁄5: Okay for variety, good central location for city slickers
